Ten-hut!

Your imagination will be fired”! Well this member's certainly was!

fellas

today, I did a noonie, at our local AA club which has been temporarily relocated because of hurricane Sandy.

this being my anniversary month, I was reminiscing. I recalled how, as a yoot, I was a boy scout. anyone who was in the scouts [ boy or girl ] remembers "merit badges." , and sashes, etc.

then the idea struck me, it is so obvious, why has no one thought about it. this is something that we need in AA.

just think about it. we could have a badge, or a patch or a pin for each member, and as they "complete" each step, they could be awarded a badge or pin to wear! and wear proudly so all other members would know how sober they really are.

and, actually, taking it a step further, perhaps we could design an "AA Jacket." This could be a design taken from, say the military.

just think. AA would award a badge or pin for doing the steps, and these could be affixed on the breast pocket, or above it. and each home group could design a patch, which would be sewn onto the upper left arm/shoulder area, so all others would know what home group we belong to. and we could put "hash marks" on the sleeve to indicate years of sobriety.

think of the possibilities???

and just think how much money we could make selling the items and apparel. why, I bet, all the cult like groups would adopt them for their members.

and with enough time in AA, you could look just like one of those 3rd world generals, who never left their country, but have a chestful of big medals!

so, whajatink?

lemme know.

I gotta copyright this!

.....

PS and a friend made additional suggestions.

And I bet that some people would actually take this idea seriously! OMG, I can see it now. Ha ha.

What do you think sponsors should have on their uniform jacket to indicate what sort of a sponsor they are?

Maybe a color could indicate ---- Black for Step Sponsor, Green for newcomer temporary sponsor, Yellow for 13 Stepper sponsor, Red for EZ DUZ IT sponsor, and Blue for Sharing ES&H sponsor.

the possibilities are endless!”

Comment: Indeed the possibilities are endless. So taken are we by this proposal in fact that we have already commissioned a full set of regalia for each member of the aacultwatch team. We're eagerly looking forward to going 'on parade' soon. Humility? Bah! If you've got it .. flaunt it!

Cheerio
