Conference questions not quite up to par! (contd)

And finally …...

53.
1. In this ever changing world we live are the recommendations contained within the Structure Handbook 2013 (pages 8285) robust enough in dealing with inappropriate and threatening behaviour including aggressiveness and sexual harassment, currently being experienced by a cross section of the Fellowship?
2. Does the Fellowship agree that there is sufficient clarity within The Structure Handbook for Groups regarding the steps that may be taken when complaints are made regarding inappropriate behaviour by individuals?
3. Can the Fellowship confirm whether a Group, following a Conscience Meeting, has the authority to deny entry to an individual following an incident involving unacceptable behaviour?

Background

A. Tradition 1. Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A.A. unity
B. Tradition 4. Each Group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as a whole
C. Pages 82‐85 of 'The AA Structure Handbook for Great Britain 2013'

Terms of Reference No. 7 There have been several submissions covering this topic and a question has been selected that encompasses all areas of the subject matter with appropriate background material.

Comment: The problem is not guidance. After all should adults need to be told that bullying is wrong! The problem is implementation. We repeat – if you want to know where the ultimate responsibility resides for ensuring this conduct does not go unadmonished look in the mirror! This is no one else's responsibility!

Cheers
