Perhaps
an indication here that “stringent rules”, even where informally
applied, serve to deter potential members from remaining with the
fellowship ….. and how much more so when these are laid down by an
AA 'dictator'! Moreover that sponsorship (ie. 'personality') is far
from essential, and of greater import is the impact of the
'collective' experience mediated by a set of 'principles'
