Common assault (contd)

Following on from our previous entries on the subject (see here) we have passed all relevant details we possess to the police concerning the alleged assault. We have been advised that anyone who has further information should contact them via the 101 (non emergency) number.

We have also been advised that groups may contact a Safer Neighbourhood team who should be in a position to come along to their meeting and offer advice on Crime Prevention/Personal Safety.

Clearly such conduct as described in the above incident is completely unacceptable. Should AA members fail to act they are in effect complicit with the crime which reflects badly on them and on the fellowship as a whole.

We are currently considering what further steps we can take to ensure this kind of abusive/criminal behaviour is brought to a halt … we suggest other AA members do the same. We certainly intend to give maximum public coverage to any such incidents where they occur. Nothing will be concealed under the guise of anonymity

Cheers
